Romania: Day-ahead electricity price falls 2.3% to €120.14/MWh in July

The average day-ahead electricity price on Romania’s OPCOM power exchange fell to €120.14/MWh in July 2026, down 2.32% from June’s €122.99/MWh average. However, the price remained 16.07% higher than in July 2025.

Day-ahead trading volume reached 1.179 million MWh, representing a 32.76% increase from June but a 9.48% decline compared with the same month last year. Average hourly trading volume stood at 1,585.2 MWh.

The total value of transactions on the day-ahead market reached €143.3 million in July, up 21.76% from €117.7 million in June and 5.88% from €135.4 million a year earlier. According to the report, day-ahead market trading represented 30.34% of forecast net electricity consumption in July 2025.

On the intraday market, trading volume totaled 138,685.7 MWh, increasing 18.14% from June but falling 27.3% year on year. The average intraday price was €102.57/MWh, down 29.2% from the previous month but 2.75% higher than in July 2025.
