Italy recorded the smallest decrease at 1.0%, with Germany, France, Spain and Italy all posting lower solar output for a second consecutive week.
Solar PV changes for the week of September 14
Across the major markets tracked, solar generation declined compared with the prior week. Portugal’s solar output fell by 10% after two consecutive weeks of growth. France and Germany reported decreases of 6.2% and 5.4%, respectively, while Spain recorded a 4.4% decline.
Italy posted the smallest fall, with solar generation down by 1.0%. Germany, France, Spain and Italy each registered lower solar generation for the second consecutive week following the September 14 period.

For the week beginning September 21, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting expects solar generation to rise in Germany, Spain and Italy. The forecast indicates an increase in those three electricity markets relative to the preceding period.
Wind power movements during the third week of September
Wind power generation increased across most major European electricity markets during the third week of September compared with the previous week. Portugal recorded the strongest growth, with output rising by 49%, followed by Germany where wind generation increased by 43% after declining in the prior week.
France reported a 10% increase after two consecutive weeks of declines, while Spain’s wind generation rose by 7.4%. Portugal and Spain also recorded higher wind output for a second consecutive week.
Italy was the only major market moving in the opposite direction, with wind generation falling by 16%. This followed an increase in Italy during the previous week.

AleaSoft Energy Forecasting expects lower wind generation for the week beginning September 21 in Germany, France, Portugal and Spain. In contrast, AleaSoft forecasts an increase in wind power output in Italy for that same period.
