Electricity traded on North Macedonia’s day-ahead market rose sharply in August, while the average clearing price increased by nearly a third from July.
Trading volume reached 199,699 MWh, up 58.1% from about 126,292 MWh in August 2025 and 32.8% from July.
Market operator MEMO reported an average clearing price of €136.87/MWh, up 29.3% month on month.
Average daily trading volume was around 6,442 MWh, while the reported average peak price was €110.50/MWh.
The increase continues the development of the North Macedonian organised electricity market, which began operations in May 2023, with higher participation in exchange-based procurement strengthening the role of transparent short-term price formation in the country’s power sector.
