Serbia’s SEEPEX day-ahead market logged its highest monthly trading volume in September, alongside higher average electricity prices compared with August. The September figures were accompanied by rising power prices across day-ahead and intraday trading.
Total day-ahead turnover reached 579,406.3 MWh, up 5.9% month on month and 26.6% year on year. Average daily volume was 19,313.5 MWh.
Monthly baseload pricing increased by 9.7% to €150.01/MWh. The euro-peak average rose 14.1% to €131.83/MWh.
Peak-period electricity continued to trade below the full-day average. This indicated that higher monthly prices did not eliminate the discount during conventional daytime delivery hours.
Intraday trading volume and pricing
The intraday market traded 5,801 MWh at an average price of €181.76/MWh. Intraday volume was equivalent to about 1% of day-ahead turnover, keeping the day-ahead auction as the dominant venue.
The September record reinforced SEEPEX’s position in Serbian wholesale electricity trading. The higher intraday average also reflected a greater cost level for adjusting positions closer to delivery.
