Drivers cited for price movements and next-week outlook
Lower wind power generation in most markets contributed to higher electricity prices despite falling gas prices. In Great Britain and Portugal, stronger electricity demand added upward pressure on prices during the week. In Italy, higher wind generation combined with lower demand contributed to the decline in electricity prices.
AleaSoft Energy Forecasting expects higher electricity prices across most analyzed European markets for the week beginning September 28. Italy and Great Britain are identified as exceptions, with AleaSoft forecasting declines in both markets.
